SNMP Tools - monitoring software
Before you download and install a SNMP Tools, you must install and configure necessary
services and software. Make sure you have administrative rights before installing
any software.

- SNMP Protocol (part of operating system)
- Internet Information Services (part of operating system)
- .NET Framework 2.0 (free update)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (express edition is free)

To install:
Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs / Add/Remove Windows Components /
Application Server / Management and Monitoring Tools / Simple Network Management
Protocol
Configure access rights:
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services / SNMP Service / Properties
/ Security /
1) Accepted community names / Add / Community rights = READ ONLY; Community
name = public
2) Accept SNMP packets from these hosts / Add / Host name, IP or IPX address = localhost

To install:
Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs / Add/Remove Windows Components /
Application Server
No manual configuration steps needed.
