Step-by-step instructions
1) Make sure you have fulfilled
Requirements.
2) Make sure you have administrative rights before continuing. Log On as administrator.
3) Download and run installation package.

Choose the directory to install to on your local hard disk, preferably close
to hard disk root directory. NB! Actual screenshots in this document may be
different and depend on version.
4) Once files are extracted you can choose the parameters:

- Site Name - sites can be created using IIS manager.
- Application Name - the name of virtual directory, must be available or
in use by nothing else but SNMPTools. You need to change it if you plan to
install more than one copies in same computer.
- Application Pool - the name of application pool to run under, must be
available or in use by nothing else but SNMPTools. You need to change it if
you plan to install more than one copies in same computer.
- Authentication Method - choose IIS authentication methods for SNMPTools.
- .NET Version - this cannot be changed.
- Database Name - the name for attached database, must be available or in
use by nothing else but SNMPTools. You need to change it if you plan to
install more than one copies in same computer.
- SQL Server \ Instance - dot means local machine. This can be remote
machine but in this case the database must be moved to and attached
manually, access rights must be also configured manually.
- Enable Automatic Updates - when checked creates a scheduled task for
keeping the version up to date.

- SMTP Server Host - mail server to use for sending email messages.
- Username and Password must be specified in case the server requests
this.
- "From" Address - the email address the tool uses for sending email
messages, your mail server must accept messages from this address.
- You need to use [Save] button only if you want to change the
configuration on already installed and running tool.

- ApplicationName - this is the name of the tool.
- ApplicationUrl - this is the address used in email messages to refer
problem devices. It should be corrected.
- SupportEmail - this is the email address where error messages are sent
to.
- GlobalAdminWindowsUser - this is the name of administrator account that
has admin rights in case anonymous access is disabled.
- Other parameters should be left alone unless you know what you are
doing.

- Unique Authentication Cookie - You need to change it if you plan to
install more than one copies in same computer.

6) On main page click Login. Username is "Global Admin", password is "password" (without quotes).
Change the password to something more complex.
Reconfigure
1) Locate ...\snmptools\EdgSetup.exe and run it. Click Uninstall. This
shuts down the application, releases the database and removes all traces from
system but no files would be deleted.
2) While uninstalled the directory can be moved or renamed.
3) Run ...\snmptools\EdgSetup.exe again. Change the settings and click
Install.
NOTE: Tabs that have [Save] button do not need the tool to be taken down for
making changes.
Uninstall
1) Locate ...\snmptools\EdgSetup.exe and run it. Click Uninstall.
2) Delete ...\snmptools folder. If you do this your monitored data
would be permanently lost.
